Experienced Professionals + A Proven Process = A Pleasant Experience
The difference is the experience.
mackmiller design+build is a full service, one-stop design and build firm owned by Mark and Mary Mackmiller.
Mark has over fifteen years of remodeling and building industry experience. With a two-year degree in carpentry, he started out buying older homes, renovating and finally selling them. Returning to school, he received a bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of St. Thomas. And along the way, he has kept up with new building trends and practices through continuing education and self-study.
Today, Mark handles all aspects of sales, design and bid processes. Once construction begins, Mark and his project managers directly oversee all work ensuring it is completed according to the plan and specifications. Overall responsibility for the successful completion of the job and your satisfaction lies with Mark.
He loves personalizing spaces for his clients. “It’s the blending of my knowledge and experience with the client’s ideas and desires that makes each project unique and reflective of the client.”
Mary is a degreed interior designer receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree from School of Associated Arts (now the College of Visual Arts) in St. Paul. With her many years of experience, she understands how families and individuals use homes, what works and what doesn’t.
Partnering with Mark, she participates in the initial design meetings. Once the master design plan is finalized, she accompanies clients on buying trips to help guide them in selecting all interior and exterior appointments including carpet, tile and stone, paint, plumbing fixtures and lighting.
Her goal is to make the selection process fun by first finding out the goals of the client and then by narrowing the field of choices. While it’s Mary’s role to provide choices and coordinate selections, her ultimate role is to make sure that the clients are comfortable with their selections. Clients appreciate that this process saves them time and money.
The end result is a room, rooms or a home that looks “intentional”. Comments from clients include: “Awesome!” “Stunning!” “Wow!”
In Mark and Mary's own words…“We love what we do!”
